Listening to the sports talk station here in Nashville, and you would think Manning left the Titans like LeBron left the Cavs. Some are talking about burning his jerseys and shit like that. It's ridiculous. Just proves what douchebags Titans fans are.

I feel bad for 49er fans if Alex Smith goes to Miami. Who is the back-up QB and how much does he suck? Maybe you guys could get McNabb 01laugh.gif

Wow. Missed the news. Interesting. I wonder if the Niners low-balled him? Only reason I can think for not going there. They have a better team. Oh well, Niners better hope they can sign Smith now. Otherwise they better hope Karpernick (sp?) can get the job done, because Moss and Manningham don't mean shit if there's no one to throw to them.

Anyone here anymore on Wayne talking to the fins?? That and Peyton's off season home being there made me think they were a sure thing for the Manning saga. As of Smith being dealt away, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Wayne resigned with the Colts, didn't he?

As far as Smith, he won't be dealt away, he's a free agent. I just read in ProFootballTalk that he's actually in negotiations with the Dolphins right now. He got all pissy because the Niners went after one of the best QBs of ALL TIME. The guy seems like a little bitch now. For years he underperformed and the Niners gave him the benefit of the doubt, he had a ton of different OC's and coaches. Last year he finally has some stability and plays.. OK. He doesn't suck, and has one really good playoff game. Now he acts all pissy? What a little baby.

I really haven't read anywhere that he's acting "pissy". Basically, an offer was there but with them possibly going after Peyton, he saw the writing on the wall.

And yes, Wayne signed a 3 year deal with the Colts.

I did, I read a couple things over the past week with the Niners going after Manning where Smith was "angry" and "upset". Read: pissy. 02smile.gif

The genius that is Rob Chudzinski at work again. As I read on NFL.com, I highly doubt the Panthers are going to ditch Jonathan Stewart, and the OC could be devising plays where all 3 (Williams, Stewart and Tolbert) are on the field at once. If they can fix their o-line, and pick up another good WR, Carolina is gonna have a devastating offense in 2012.

It seems Chargers fans have good reason to hate Carolina right now. They've raided their team in the last 2 seasons. And I dare say that if Cam Newton had turned out to be a bust, Philip Rivers would be a Panther in time. Good thing he wasn't a bust 01laugh.gif

Donte Stallworth (WR) goes to New England for a 1 year contract. I saw a lot of potential in him and really wanted him to stick around :/

LaRon Landry is off to the Jets for a 1 year, $4 million deal. I'm glad we got rid of him, he gets injured way too much 01laugh.gif

I wasn't aware that offensive co-ordinators were responsible for free agent signings. Learn something new every day.

News to me too. I just thought they gave their 2 cents (along with other coaching staff) to the guys who make those decisions.

Well yeah, Greazer has a point. Bring in guys that you know that have played under you. Look at Pagano, he's brought in guys that played under him in Baltimore.

The fact that Tolbert was a Charger is purely coincidence. If that was the first place he went as a free agent, the sure, but he tried to go to at least two or three other places first and struck out. To make it sound like the offensive coordinator is a genius because a couple other teams didn't sign a guy before he visited and before the guy ever plays a game is kind of over-the-top.

Ah, I was unaware that he shopped himself around prior to joining Carolina. My bad.

However, my genius comment was a reference to what I read on NFL.com regarding Carolina (and more to the point, Chudzinski) using Tolbert, Williams and Stewart on the field at the same time. Their running game will be nigh on impossible to defend if, as I stated earlier, they can sure up that o-line.

And (an addendum to that previous comment) if they can get a WR to compliment Smith, that offense is going to be up there as one of the best in the league.

Three running backs on the field at the same time? Why not four? That would be 33% more genius. I'm hoping the 49ers scrap their entire offensive line, pull Alex Smith's contract offer, and field an offense of 11 running backs. How could you defend that? Impossible. Who has the rock now? I don't know, they keep handing it off to each other.

Name one team that has used three tailbacks (fullbacks do not count) on the field at the same time.

If what I read was correct, the idea was to use either Tolbert or Stewart (or alternate both) from time to time in a fullback role. My guess would be for specific trick plays.

All that is academic now though, because now I'm reading that it appears that Stewart is most likely leaving Carolina 12ohwell.gif

The r/NFL sub-Reddit bringing the goodness yet again, right now Vikings Punter Chris Kluwe is doing an AMA here.

Among the gems, here's what he said when asked to describe Skip Bayless in 30 words or more:
QUOTE
A mealy mouthed no talent garbage spewing hack who has to dangle off the testicles of those who've actually done something with their lives because to actually attempt an athletic activity would leave him gasping for breath and weeping.

For my money he's also one of the best NFL player to follow on Twitter, which you can do at @ChrisWarcraft

03sad.gif yea. although he wasn't on the field for most of the plays last year. under the 3-4 his role was highly diminished, and he was making $6 mil a year. sucks. he was one of my favorites. 03sad.gif

Standard Eagles trade. Guy who's had a serious injury. He wasn't as good last year even after coming back from his achilles.

I'm still surprised the Texans moved him though. He was a huge part of their defense and right after they'd lost Williams?

How could I, ever think, it's funny how, everything you swore would never change, is different now, like you said, you and me make it through, didn't quite, fell apart, where the fuck were you?
