Savard posted on his twitter yesterday:

E-Kane better look me up the next time he is in Boston. I owe him a drink. I don't mind being a liason for the underaged.

03sad.gif Kings.

They have a good team though, a real good team. This is the type of heartbreaking "We totally could have won this series!" that a young team needs. It's great playoff experience for a young nucleus that should be around for years to come. They add a couple more pieces (they could use a legit 40 goal guy), and they are going to be dangerous.

That Boston-Buffalo series was an all-out war, eh? I mean, there was hitting in the other series', but there was just pure havoc in that one!

Apparently the Bruins have also offered Edmonton Tim Thomas and #2 for #1...

I know this is old news and been debated to no end already, but I havent had internet for a week so I gotta get my two cents in on this one.

Boston would be laughing all the fucking way to the money bank. There's no doubt that Thomas' days in Boston are all but over (providing they can find someone to take on that fucking horrible contract) but there's no way the Oilers would buy into that shit unless they throw in a roster player.

I think for once Edmonton will just...stand pat, and hang on to that pick. If there's anyone who will sell away a good chunk of a teams future and promise to get something back it's Burkie.

Fuckin eh they have a good team. I like the Kings, I really do. It just sucks they had to play the Canucks. I dont think anyone expected them to make the playoffs this year, so for them to take a series to 6 games the way they did is nothing to sneeze at.

A year or two down the road and they could be like the Blackhawks now.

LA has a shitload of money coming off the books. Wouldn't be surprised if they offer Kovalchuk a ridiculous contract.

Right. I have no doubt that variation of the deal would require the Bruins to bring back a salary, probably Sheldon Souray since he is demanding a trade. I also have no doubt that the Oilers will get some form of asset out of the Bruins in order to take Seguin, who they should probably take anyway. I'd obviously love it if they took Thomas. But I'd give them Zach Hamill and/or Matt Hunwick just to take Seguin. They have Eberle coming up and he was fantastic in the World Juniors, but they don't have many other pivots at all. But in the end, they were two throw away rumors that I found funny and felt like posting.

Not that I don't want Seguin, it just works so much more nicely to get Hall since our wingers are atrocious and I don't think they have the brainpower to put Bergeron on a wing. It amazes me that Mark Recchi is our best winger right now, and he is totally a meat and potatoes grinder at this point. He's the savvy vet relying on all the old tricks. Marco Sturm has been a travesty, Michael Ryder is my favorite punching bag, Blake Wheeler has been so utterly frustrating it just blows my mind. That kid has all the talent in the world but no finish whatsoever. Milan Lucic... man, he hit a freaking wall or something, he doesn't do shit. Our best wings have been Danielle Paille, Shawn Thornton, Miro Satan (some of the time) and Recchi. Bergeron and Krecji have been playing out of their minds, but they have duds for ammo. Glad that Marc Savard will be back, but Begin and Sobotka have been playing well too, so I hope they move Bergeron to a wing, or maybe Sobotka. Sturm or Ryder have to get out of the lineup, preferably Ryder, because every time he touches the puck he manages to fuck something up. It's actually comical to watch at this point. If you have access to watch any of these games this past series, watch Ryder every time he has the puck. He literally looks like he's never seen one before.

I thought they'd get by Buffalo and I think they can get by Philadelphia, but I don't see them winning a seven game series against Pittsburgh or Washington. Not saying it can't happen, but it's going to take Sturm and Wheeler waking the hell up to make it happen. We'll see I guess.

Chewy calling Kovi to LA already? Haha. Totally, dude.

I could Souray being a huge piece of any big deal that sends a contract and a pick for a contract and a pick. Thomas to Edmonton doesnt make sense though given how well (and believe me Im using that term loosley) Deslauries played at points in the season, that and Khabibulan coming back seem to nix that deal, or at least Thomas being a part of it.

They're gonna have a ton of cap space, and they need someone to take pressure off Kopitar.

It makes too much sense.

Great job Wings!!!!! 04happy.gif Good to see a very tight and controlled game after sundays general sloppiness, some great play-making and Howard looked great out there. On to San Jose`! 02smile.gif

Totally. Makes a ton of sense. They have about $12 million free for the start of next season. I can see Justin Williams and his $3.5 going bye bye.

Williams is a nice piece, but the dude just CANNOT stay healthy. $3.5 million for a guy who is going to spend as much time on the bench hurt as on the ice is just too much.

I would LOVE to see Kovalchuk in an LA uniform. That's exactly the type of guy they need. 40 goal guy who, as Chewy said, can take the pressure off of Anze. I think Kopitar could be a 100 point guy if he has a chance to show off some playmaking skills rather than being their guy as far as goal scoring. I could see him tallying 60+ assists with a guy like Kovi on his line.

Now if Terry Murray can only learn to rest Jonathan Quick every now and again maybe he won't be a dead man come playoff time.

I'd actually be happy with either the Flyers/Bruins out of the East and the Sharks/Hawks out of the West. As long as the Canucks get sent home early and we don't see a repeat Pens/Wings final.

As much as I love the B's I think I'd be rooting for Big Joe to fuck them.

We all know that Joe Thornton is one of my favorite players of all time, but quite frankly, the playoffs just aren't his thing, so I don't see that happening. Not the Sharks beating the Bruins, I can see that, but I don't see it having anything to do with Joe...

That's the one trade that will forever bug me. Especially seeing how hard he took it. They could've traded anyone else and I could've seen it.

Hard to argue with the success they've had without him. I think they could have gotten more but it is what it is. They made out like bandits in both recent Toronto trades, so I guess it balances out...

How awesome would a Pens/Bruins series be? Like a full, 7 game, grueling, face-in-the-boards series. I anticipate Cooke would be beheaded by a skate blade game 6.
