Runk already mentioned Black Breath but adding more details, the album is called "Sentenced To Life" and is tentatively due out in March from Southern Lord.

Album due out March 26th. Here is a new song called Mother Abyss:

Yes! Seems like they are continuing the 80s Entombed/Dismember-worship, and are still metal.gif

And I just read they are playing a small venue here in April, right next to where I live. eee.gif

Tool and Down are the real ones i am eagerly waiting for.
I dont know if Slipknot will be releasing a new album in 2012, i remember reading something like that, but not sure. Would love it.
I guess Slayer will release too but even i dont care anymore, anything they released since Diabolus are garbage.
And Fuck many of the bands mentioned above, such as Cult of Luna, 3 inches of blood.

I can't believe no one has mentioned The Haunted releasing Peter Dolving in this thread. That was a surprise release that got absolutely NO press until the actual release date.

Tool won't be out this year. Maynard is touring until April. I wouldn't expect they'd hit the studio till May at the earliest. Early next year would be my bet.

Katatonia started recording in January so they should have a new one out mid year or so?

How could I, ever think, it's funny how, everything you swore would never change, is different now, like you said, you and me make it through, didn't quite, fell apart, where the fuck were you?

Struck By Lightning - "True Predation" will be out on April 24th. Didn't even know they were working on a new album, so this is a nice surprise!

Heavy Breathing is great, have had that one for a while. I caked the new one the other day as well, and it's rather awesome too. Love the opening track!

Going to teh studio during june, so there's a good chance it will be out this year.
It will be a "dark, heavy" record this time, said Rob.

So when something sort of strikes me, when the creativity sort of starts happening, you just have to—and this sounds a little overly romantic—let it guide you. That’s the only way I can stomach writing music, because it really is all just a handful of notes, and it’s up to you how you put them together. If it feels right, we’ll write it. And this record feels really right to us. It’s going to be shockingly different—I can’t say anything less than that.

prepare to be shocked!

He said more melody, less aggressive, and simpler. Hopefully more like The Hunter and less like Unseen.
