So there isn't really any news, I just wanted a good place to post this and thought "Might as well make the offseason thread as well".

Evan Mathis, OG on the Eagles, is apparently a long time Redditor and did an AMA yesterday and it's right up there with Louis CK's as one of the funniest, most honest, and longest. Figured some of you guys may want to check it out. (For those who don't know AMA is "Ask Me Anything" where people can ask a famous/interesting person... anything. Unless it's Woody Harrelsson, then you can only ask about his new movie. )

That depends on where you want to sit and when you buy it.

If you buy it way ahead of time on StubHub then you're probably going to pay a slight premium on it. If it's a non-AFC East game then you could probably find a decent non-upper deck seat for around $150 or so. I would highly recommend not sitting in the upper deck. It's the typical congregating spot for low life losers and the bottom feeders of society in any stadium, much less Philly.

I'll be buying it ASAP and was always planning on sitting in the lower bowl. Cost isn't so much a worry, though I'm not going to throw down more than $500. This is more than likely a once in a lifetime thing for me so I want to make the best of it.

Speaking of which, I found out yesterday that a nice fellow on my Facebook page (whom I happened to add through Full Tilt Poker online) ages ago is a Panthers fan too (from Carolina no less ), and has season tickets. He saw the photo posted up of my poker tourney win on Monday and commented on the hat I was wearing. I then commented how I've been a fan pretty much since the start....

Turns out he has season tickets and invited me if I ever want to catch a game. I was like HELL YES!!!! Either the Giants game this year, or the 49ers game in 2013.

Andrew Luck runs as fast as Cam Newton. #1, #2 in the draft almost assured now, and Kalil sounds like the consensus number 3 although now the Vikings are doing what the Vikings do and are shopping the pick. So my previous statement that RGIII would go #2 overall and that the Rams would trade the pick has been absolutely cemented at the combine this week. St. Louis is in a great spot here.

From ESPN.com:

The NFL will kick off its season on Wednesday, Sept. 5 instead of the traditional Thursday night start to avoid a conflict with a scheduled speech by President Barack Obama on Sept. 6 at the Democratic National Convention.

Commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement Tuesday. The game, to be hosted by the Super Bowl-champion New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Giants' opponent for the opener hasn't been determined yet. The 2012 NFL schedule will be revealed in the coming months.

According to the league, it hasn't played a game on a Wednesday since Sept. 22, 1948, when the Rams faced the Lions.

The NFL regular season has started on a Thursday since 2002.

This year's change was announced by the league on Tuesday.

Reading the Twitter feeds it sounds like the Redskins and Browns are the top suitors for the Rams #2 pick and RGIII. The Skins are willing to deal two first round picks and meet the Rams other demands but I think they'd be hard pressed to match two first rounds picks for this year that the Browns are potentially offering.

If the Eagles get involved the that could make things very, very interesting.

Why are the Eagles even interested? I get how he's a natural replacement for Michael Vick, but Vick isn't going anywhere anytime soon is he? and The Eagles would hardly start RGIII ahead of Vick. Why would RGIII want to go sit on the bench of an under-achieving team when he could be the starting QB for an up-and-coming team?

Why the fuck aren't the Dolphins all over this #2 pick? They badly need someone like RGIII, but maybe they need to sort out their shitty O-line first.

Too bad the Browns have given up on Colt McCoy so quickly.

With Hillis not pulling his weight until late in the season, McCoy had to throw more. He was in a second year with his second coaching staff. It seems Shurmur didn't want him from the beginning, so why take the job if you don't like the players? And Shurmur was just bad at playcalling this past season.
