Fucking awesome album, straight up heavy metal at it's finest.

"Today, a young man on Acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves... Here's Tom with the weather." ~Bill Hicks

So, everyone went out and bought this yesterday, right???!!!!!

I did the preorder from Amazon because I didn't trust the stores in my area to have it. Hopefully it will arrived by the end of the week.

I've been trying to not listen to the leak so I can have my skull crushed by the real deal metal.gif

this is a great album.

Religion is no fun.
Religion endangers the life and happiness of millions.
It must stop. We appeal in particular to the youth of today.
STOP THE MADNESS!
There are better things in life.

Fucking incredible - easily the best album of the year so far.

Didn't expect so much of it to remind me of RTL/MOP era Metallica. That's an influence I haven't heard very often in High On Fire in the past. Jeff Matz is the new Cliff Burton. To hear him and Pike exchange leads in King of Days is borderline orgasmic.

Release date in Germany is the 20th. I only know a couple of their songs but I think it's time to buy an album. If this one is good I'm gonna buy it.

^They all rule man (the ones I have anyway, though that's my understanding of all their stuff).
One of those bands you can hit shuffle>all songs and just let it roll. Fucking amazing.

Oh, Tim. You have such wonderful discoveries ahead of you. love.gif

Derek is right. Everything they've done is great, and everything from Blessed Black Wings onwards is fucking untouchable.

I've yet to pick up the first two albums but the songs from them I know are awesome and the Live from Contamination Festival disc rules hard (the set's made up of tracks from the first two albums plus a cover of Witching Hour).

On the concept of the new album:

QUOTE
Basically, he keeps waking up in other people’s bodies at bad times. It’s kinda like that old TV show Quantum Leap. Kurt actually pointed that out to me after I told him the idea. But whatever—time travel is a killer concept.

What an amazing album! Strong contender for a album of the year for me.
Can't wait for the vinyl to arrive.

So very true. I only discovered them a couple weeks back, I then proceeded to buy all there albums... the rest is history. Fantastic band, fantastic amazeballs riffs. I've gone to work and back every day with them in my ear, enjoying each and every minute. No weak moments whatsoever.
