I did the preorder from Amazon because I didn't trust the stores in my area to have it. Hopefully it will arrived by the end of the week.

I've been trying to not listen to the leak so I can have my skull crushed by the real deal

Fucking incredible - easily the best album of the year so far.

Didn't expect so much of it to remind me of RTL/MOP era Metallica. That's an influence I haven't heard very often in High On Fire in the past. Jeff Matz is the new Cliff Burton. To hear him and Pike exchange leads in King of Days is borderline orgasmic.

I've yet to pick up the first two albums but the songs from them I know are awesome and the Live from Contamination Festival disc rules hard (the set's made up of tracks from the first two albums plus a cover of Witching Hour).

On the concept of the new album:

Basically, he keeps waking up in other people’s bodies at bad times. It’s kinda like that old TV show Quantum Leap. Kurt actually pointed that out to me after I told him the idea. But whatever—time travel is a killer concept.

So very true. I only discovered them a couple weeks back, I then proceeded to buy all there albums... the rest is history. Fantastic band, fantastic amazeballs riffs. I've gone to work and back every day with them in my ear, enjoying each and every minute. No weak moments whatsoever.
