Kinda bummed the Bruins decided to win out and drew the Caps instead of letting Ottawa win the other night and facing them.
Pittsburgh/Philly in the first round, while awesome, begs the NHL to fucking fix this seeding system. Florida literally had a losing record this year and the Bruins certainly don't deserve a 2 seed. |

Got my tickets on Friday to game one of the Bruins playoffs. The caps should be a better game to watch but I was looking forward to the Bruins having an easy first round.
I could see the Kings pulling this out though. Sharks post season woes continue. Only because Smith is on fire. My Red Wing hate may cloud my vision. The Sens regular season record against the Rangers won't matter. Tough first round draw but they will pull it out. Easiest upset pick EVER! Philly's only chance is to beat them up badly (which could happen).

I like that you guys think the Kings can pull it out. I'm not so sure. I think losing last night was a big blow to the team. Not only did it probably hand the Vezina to Lundquist (though I still think Quick deserves it as he played more, faced more shots, and had more shut-outs), but the Kings actually had a winning record against St. Louis this year. They got beat by the Canucks. Although, it will be a better series. St. Louis vs. LA would have been a whole bunch of 1-0 games.

Really have a strong feeling this will happen. Kings have been looking solid, Quick's play lately may just steal the Vezina from Lundqvist and the Canucks are mentally weak bitches. No surprises in this series Like the Kings, have been turning it on lately and I think they'll ride that wave for the upset. I think this will be a very close series though and wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Predators go through.East I think the Rangers will win but will have a lot more trouble doing so then what is expected of them. Even though Ovechkin has been increasing his production lately he's still been a major disappointment these last two seasons and I doubt the Caps can do anything special if he doesn't show up as his best incarnation and even then I think the Bruins are just too good for them. Devils will win in a fairly standardized fashion Lots of heat in this series, but I just have a feeling that the Flyers will be turning it up in the postseason while the Pens won't.

Rooting for the Bruins clearly. I don't do predictions. I guess it depends which version of the team shows up. All I know is Vancouver can't lose fast enough. If the Bruins don't win it, I'm rooting for a Florida vs Nashville finals

I'd love to see Pekka Rinne get some credits over Lundqvist and Quick. I do understand the love for Lundqvist, but Rinne played and won more games, had more saves and was only .07 behind Lundqvist in save %.

hawks getting toews back should be huge. this team can either be the best team in the league or lose in 5. too inconsistent and injured this year. hopefully they can get hot and go on a run.

Doan is a cunt of Burrows like proportions. Crawford has been awesome since early March. Series depends on Toews. If he doesn't have immediate impact when he returns, I think the Hawks are in trouble.

I will say one thing, based on all coverage of the Flyers/Penguins series so far, you'd think the Penguins already won and the Flyers forfeited after the 2nd game. They're getting no respect.

Philly should not have won that game. It's inexcusable at this level to miss Briere being a foot offsides.

Ugh, blow a 3 goal lead and lose in overtime. I don't know how their regular season performance was overall but every game I've watched this year when Pittsburgh goes to overtime they lose, and last night was no different. They deserve it though. How to blow a lead in full effect.

The Canucks are infuriating to watch, a bigger group of diving cunts you could never find. Tonight was more of the same, Luongo, Sedin, Burrows and Kesler flopping around and acting up. At least their antics are widely recognized now and they started getting called out last year.
Great seeing the Flyers come back and take it OT, also pulling hard for the Preds. Great night of hockey. The Canucks suck cock. Later "No soul, no balls, no feel. Caucasian all the way. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The NHL has fined Nashville defenseman Shea Weber $2,500 for slamming Detroit forward Henrik Zetterberg's head against the glass at the end of Game 1 and warned the captain to be careful the rest of the playoffs.
Weber was assessed a minor penalty for roughing, and the NHL announced the fine Thursday while the Predators were practicing. The league noted the fine was the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. ``This was a reckless and reactionary play on which Weber threw a glancing punch and then shoved Zetterberg's head into the glass,'' said Brendan Shanahan, the NHL's chief disciplinarian. ``As is customary whenever Supplemental Discipline is being considered, we contacted Detroit following the game and were informed that Zetterberg did not suffer an apparent injury and should be in the lineup for Game 2.'' But Shanahan said the play and fine will be a factor if Weber is involved in any further incidents in the postseason. Weber said he talked with Shanahan and thought it was a straightforward conversation to play to the edge but not over. The incident came at the end of Wednesday night's 3-2 win by the Predators. Nashville had won the faceoff with 5.1 seconds left with the puck going to Weber, who was trying to keep it away from the Red Wings to seal the victory. ``It's a quick game and things happen and it's an emotional game,'' Weber said. ``I'm just thankful he's not hurt, and now we can move forward.'' Zetterberg had to look at tape to see what happened and said he thought it looked pretty bad. He said his helmet was cracked and he was a little dizzy at first. Zetterberg did skate Thursday with the Red Wings after passing a baseline test for possible concussion. But the Red Wings forward didn't hide his feelings over the fine. ``I thought it was dirty,'' Zetterberg said. ``I think it was a direct (blow) to my head and look what happened the last few years with all the head injuries. I think that shouldn't belong in the game.'' Weber noted it's the playoffs with everyone excited and ``ramped up.'' ``Everything's amplified and more intense in the playoffs, and maybe that's why things were a little undisciplined.'' The Predators couldn't afford to lose their captain who usually plays the most minutes per game, especially with defenseman Hal Gill day to day with a lower body injury. ``Shea's a big part of our team,'' Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. ``The league does a great job all the time of the reviewing. Nothing gets by them anymore.'' Brendan Shanahan dropped the ball on this one. Total cheap shot with intent to injure IMO. Shea Weber should have been suspended. Vancouver losing last night makes me smile. Looking forward to Blackhawks tonight. Hope to get home from work before the 2nd period starts. |

Being at the Bruins game was stressful night! The first period they owned and near the end it felt like it was going to slip away from us. That place exploded when Kelly scored. It was a good game to see considering the low score.
It was my first time seeing Ovechkin in person and it was a treat. It's obvious that the B's plan to go after him but he took it like a champ and went straight after Chara. When it looked like Seidenberg was going to absolutely smoke him he actually got the better of it. __________________________ I am the CROSS I am the pain that leaves your dying eyes Yeah, he may be an asshole, but he's our asshole! -Dank "> |

Yeah, Briere was offside. But they blew that icing call as was said before. that's not why the Pens lost. It's unbelievable how the Flyers continue to comeback the way they have.
Pens were favored to win it all. Dropping 2 at home should change some minds. GO Flyers. |
