Picked up Mass Effect for my comp. My PC screen is so much better than my TV it makes a ton of difference. Plus the improvements they made on the 360 game made it a lot of fun. Not a ton of time to play games, so I've been pretty much rocking that and the occasional GTA4 session. Almost done with ME, that should take me up to the release of Warhammer. That game looks fun as hell.

Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?

My X360 has the RRoD so I can't play fuckall at the moment.

I was playing GRID though, before it broke. And the occasional Mx vs. ATV.

Also R6 Vegas 2 on co-op was getting some play time.

I got all the achievements I needed in TF2 for the heavy weapons. Damn the sandvich and the KGBs are great additions.

About to dig into Bully for the first time, can't wait.

Literally haven't touched the Wii in months, a crying fuckin' shame. How Nintendo can manage to sell more consoles than anyone and yet still fail so epically on the software side is downright baffling. It's as if everybody's too busy counting cash to develop a decent game that takes real advantage of the hardware. Last game I picked up for it was Pinball Hall of Fame, and frankly, I could have played it on the PS2 and had just as much fun with it. Probably more, actually; using the remote/nunchuck to play a traditional game is ridiculous. What a waste.

I'm still digging Wii Sports and Wii Mariokart - I've not even ventured to the Wii Fit game yet. That just seems too silly - but I am going to try the yoga parts of it after a skinful of ale.

As for controllers - the steering wheel for the Wii fails. Completely and utterly. I always end up using the Wii "traditional" Apple-esque version of the Gamecube controller. It's baffling that you can use a GC controller when in multiplay mode on MarioKart - but you can't be the first player, which means you can't use an old GC controller for doing the license section of MarioKart - you have to get the new oldschool controller and plug it into the bottom of the standard Wii remote.

We've rented a few games for the Wii and they've all been pretty blah. It just seems as through Nintendo's own games are the only ones worth getting... but for the amount of fun we've have with it, especially with Jamie, it was a good buy.

I still can't believe the demand for Wii consoles and games like MarioKart. Both the local Sams Club and Costco got dozens of Wii consoles in early last week and by the end of the week they'd been sold. A few months ago, when we were looking for one, it took us three weeks of calling places to get one. The only places you could get them online were webstores that were selling silly bundles of a Wii, a few controllers and 10 games that noone else is buying - for $550. Fuck that...

For real? This game seemed to get so much mediocre to bad reviews, that I haven't bothered. It looks stellar, and seems fun when watching the trailers, but most people seem to think it's very repetitive and not that good. But now I can get it for quite cheap, so is it worth giving a go?

I almost sold GTA4 last week, but decided not to. It's a game that I might give another chance in a week, or even in 5 years. So it stays.

Bought MGS4 and sold it as soon as I could. Boring. Not my type at all. Only bought it because somebody put the wrong price in it. When I told them about it, they didn't even care - no remorse for me.

Sold EURO2008 because the demo of FIFA09 is almost around the corner (got 9/10) from the PESfans that gave FIFA08 6/10 last year, the OPM. In the meantime, I'll be playing PES2008 (PS2 version) - just bought it for 28 euros, brand new. Picked it over Assassin's Creed. The PES series means so much to me, that I want to have a PS2 version in my collection.

COD4 still gets some rotation, but i was never very good at FPS. The online rocks.

I just need one good FPS to play online and a footie game, and I'm set.

In the end, COD4 and FIFA (or PES) are more than enough for me 01laugh.gif

Can't wait for FIFA09. Can't wait for FIFA09. Can't wait for FIFA09. Can't wait for FIFA09. Can't wait for FIFA09. Can't wait for FIFA09.

If you can get it for cheap def buy it. It can get a little repetitive at times, its not one of those games you can sit down and play for hours and hours, but an hour or so here and there and it keeps the game fresh. I never got bored of stabbing those stupid women beggars, and those drunken/mentally retarded people who push you in the streets.

I got it for $15, and it was worth every penny. I'd say if you can get it for 20 bucks or less, you'll most certainly get your money's worth. Anything above that is a little too much, as once the game's over, it's over. But it's fun while it lasts, especially if you milk the game and do everything there is to do, which helps break up the monotony.

Mike,

Do you think the 1:1 attachment will bring back your interest in the Wii? Also, did you play Super Mario Galaxy? Great game. I have Williams pinball and use the remote/nunchuck, but can't you use the classic or Gamecube controller with it?

I look at the Wii more as an entertainment devices, rather than a full fledged game console. While there are some great games on the system, it's not a single player driven system. I use my 360 for that.

wow, Microsoft "stole" another exclusive from Sony.

This time, it's... Tekken 6?!

Holy crap!

http://www.videogaming247.com/2008/10/09/t...firmed-for-360/

Guess MGS4 will be a matter of months, now.
If Sony lost Pro Evo Soccer, GTA, Final Fantasy and Tekken exclusivity... MGS should be just around the corner.

PS: KONAMI ID system sucks ass.

I'm playing Grid at the moment, very cool. Quite difficult though, and I don't really get the menu's. I think you just get three races to play at certain times, but they keep changing when you go back to the menu. But overall the gameplay is fantastic.

Picking up TS3 this afternoon, so the weekend is booked already!

World Of Goo (PC)

It rulz!!

I also played through Mass Effect, what a huge disappointment considering all the positive reviews it got.
It wasn't total shit, but there were many annoying things like the worst inventory ever seen in any pc game and really annying, boring and stupid sidemissions.. towards the end of the game I just skipped all the extra stuff and just played the plot missions. Oh, and I also finsihed it on 'hard'... but it was still way too easy.

Just finished Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (NDS) yesterday.

50stars.png drool.gif
Any Dragon Quest RPG >= any Final Fantasy game. Fact!

At the moment I'm wasting my time with Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2).

50stars.png
The best J-RPG ever? Nope, but the best one yet!

I'm also currently playing God of War (PS2).

40stars.png
It would be perfect if I wouldn't know that God of War II is even better...

God of War II (PS2): already bought it but it's still sealed.

50stars.png
I know because I played it before. Can't wait to finish the first one just to start this sequel!

I'm not waiting for any game to be released right now. Not until Dragon Quest V & IX have a release date.
When I've finished DQVIII I'll probably pick up Final Fantasy X again but I doubt it will be in this year...

Edit: pic too huge.

I have a PS3 now and one game... CoD4. Just beat the single player mode the other night on easy because I fucking suck, but I've been having a fucking BLAST with the online play. Best gaming experience I've ever had.

My handle is Sloppopotamus if anyone wants to be my friend... love.gif

I bought the GTA "Boxed Set" for X-Box and never even opened one of the games. I MAYBE finished about 20% of GTA IV, but, like Possum said, I just got frustrated trying to get from one story-arc to the next one... it just never really felt like it was going anywhere and I got too distracted with the open environments and the mini-games.

So far the PS3 online play thing is cool for me... I'm busy and I can jump on and play a few games after my daughter goes to bed.

Any good recommendations for a mediocre gamer with no time to invest?

Swampnuts: Wii Fit is NOT a game. It's not fun at all, really... it's exercise. Definitely not a "drink beer and try it out" There are a couple of mini-games on it that might be fun to try out with a couple of drunk buddies, but it's called Wii Fit for a reason.
