No stars is lame....

I'm so happy to hear Wall*E is good. I don't think I've been as excited about an animated movie since I was a kid...

WALK THE LINE ***½

I am not a big fan of Johnny Cash's music but I decided to watch this movie anyway.
Oh, and Reese Witherspoon is annoying and she looks like a little girl in that movie.

But still, quite nice movie.
If Johnny was at least little bit like the figure (Joaquin Phoenix) in the movie, I think Cash was pathetic and looked down on women quite a lot.
Not typical iconic and epic movie but more truthful.

Good movie but it didn't make me to buy JOhnny Cash's music or anything like that.

DER UNTERGANG ***½ [= The Downfall: Hitler and the End of the Third Reich]

Also a biographical movie.
Very honest movie.
It gave another perspective to see what kind of crazy dictator Hitler was.
Just like Idi Amin (THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND **** = great movie), Hitler was acting like a little kid.
He wanted things to go only in his way.
No compromises.

Both of these films were actually quite sad.

I am still waiting for the new SIN CITY movie.
When it is in theaters?

Little Miss Sunshine-love that movie, Ive already watched it 3 times 5/5
Forgetting Sarah Marshall- very funny, maybe not so funny as Knocked Up but it still rocks 4/5
He Was a Quiet Man - what a wierd and compelling movie about socialphobic, Cristian Slater at his best 4.5/5
Pan's Labyrinth- fantasy drama, I expected something more taking into account all that hype about that movie 4/5
The Bucket List- Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman 4/5

Trust me, they're even worse.

I used to have such a crush on Reese Witherspoon about eight years ago. In fact, I kinda still do. love.gif

Have you seen Freeway? Election? American Psycho? S.F.W.? Best Laid Plans? Overnight Delivery? Give 'em a shot, I think you'll change your mind about her (escpecially after seeing Freeway). She is ever so dreamy. love.gif love.gif heart.gif

SIR RUNK:

I didn't remember that Reese Witherspoon was in American Psycho.
(It's a good movie but maybe Reese's acting didn't caught my attention. 02smile.gif )
Ok. I have to see it again someday.

And the other movies you mentioned. I haven't seen them.
But I think I'll give a try to the Freeway.
Is it a comedy or something like that?

LOOMIS (and others):

Have you seen the new FUTURAMA movie or the other ones?
What I've heard, there should be at least 3 or 4 FUTURAMA movies.
I just bought the first one on DVD.
I just need time to watch it.

Monica Belucci is my favorite love.gif

I just watched Road to Perdition. Still like this movie a lot, though I wish Hank's character was more hard-edged. Apparently, before would commit to the project, he wanted the violence toned down. I wonder what the movie would have been like had someone else received the starring role.

Indiana Jones And The Whatever The Hell It Was -

Not as bad as I feared, but far from as good as i hoped. It all started out as it should, but somehow it just felt a bit uninspired. Then it picked up and the middle section was actually quite good - it actually felt like a "proper" Indiana Jones movie. But then the ending... I guess it wasn't really more over the top than the others, but it did feel like it. But the worst thing about it, was that nobody was really doing anything! Some stuff just happened, and people (barely) reacted to it. Indiana himself was almost totally sidelined. There was absolutely no tension at all in what should have been the best setpiece in the movie. So overall it was disappointing.

The Incredible Hulk - 1/2

Definitely better than the first one. It didn't exactly give Edvard Norton much to challenge him as an actor (a bit surprising since he co-wrote it), but it is of course the Hulk everyone really wants to see. And the movie (mostly) delivered in that regard. The CGI was uneven, but the setpieces were fun and it was never boring. That Avengers movie they keep hinting about, might be really cool, if they ever make it.

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane -

I saw this had gotten lots of praise at different festivals and was supposed to be a "smarter" horror movie. Not so sure about that, but it did eventually take the story in a different direction than I expected and was better for it. But before that it was mostly trad stuff, although I liked the cinematography and mood created. And it had some sadistic, grisly kills for the horror fans.

In Bruges -

This is not for everyone I guess, and some might not like it at all. But I really liked the weird humor, dark tone and good acting. It's almost like a tourist commercial for Bruges, except that our "hosts" are two hitmen who drink a lot, do large amounts of drugs, make fun of midgets and ends up in a big, bloody shoot out.

30 Rock (S1)- ****

I would call myself an idiot for not paying attention when everyone started drooling over this show, but I like doing it that way. Now I feel like I'm discovering something all by myself. How fucking hilarious is Alec baldwin in this? I mean really. The scene when he's going to be in a sketch live and his assistant brings them the footage of him fucking up the taping of the commercial? "I think I just took a picture..." HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHAAAAA! Genius.

Yes. Totally.

I rented that first season last fall and couldn't get into it at first. I was beginning to think it was all hype. But I stuck with it and I am so fucking glad that I did. That show is brilliant.

The lemon party episode is my absolute favorite.

That really was pure genius.

^Yothers, if you're watching them in order, you've already seen it. It was episode 2 when they have a party on the yacht.

30 Rock is a cool show. And while season 1 has plenty of great moments, season 2 >>> season 1. Brace yourself!
