Spring Training Bitches!!!!! Wooooo!

Jair Jurrjens shows up with a strained pitching shoulder? Yikes. Stay away, stay far away.

How does Johnny Damon not have a deal yet? He's gonna be a ChiSox, I betcha.

Speaking of not having a deal, what the fuck is up with Felipe Lopez? He was a top 5 second baseman last year, and he can't get a deal anywhere? WTF?

So I'm wondering, can someone tell me how ESPN's fantasy baseball gurus can go and rate Miguel "I get shitfaced the night before playoff games" Cabrera ahead of Mark Teixeira when Teixeira had the better year last year across the board, plays on a better team, and even their predictions have him doing EVERYTHING better, with the exception of like 3 batting average points. Where is the logic?

First time the White Sox swept the Bo Sox in Boston since 1991. Needless to say...I'm a happy camper at the moment. FUCKING TEXAS! Jeez. Saw a stat where they are 0-11 on the road against Tampa, Yankees, and the Twins. First round playoff exit for sure if they make it.

Damn the Padres are in the midst of such an epic FAIL. They've lost 10 in a row now, and their 6.5 lead is down to 1.5....

Latos will right the ship tonight.

Felix Hernandez has 1 earned run in his last FORTY-FIVE innings. Jesus christ he is nasty.

Oh yeah, he's only 24 too.

RHP Mat Latos set a major league record: 15 consecutive starts in which he's allowed two or fewer runs while working at least five innings. He had shared the mark with Mike Scott (May 9-July 7, 1986) and Greg Maddux (Aug. 11, 1993 to April 14, 1994). Latos held the Dodgers to one run on four hits over seven innings Tuesday, lowering his major league-leading marks in ERA (2.21) and opponents' batting average (.191).

Damn. This kid is GOOD. Not to mention piling 10 K's on top of that 7 inning beauty.

Yeah, that kid is money. Then again, it was against a weak-ass Dodgers team. They need a MAJOR overhaul. Fuck Joe Torre sleepwalking through his last year. Get rid of him, get rid of Mattingly, Bowa, his entire staff. Trade Matt Kemp's crybaby ass, resign Lilly and get a big bat that will actually show up every night instead of lallygagging around because he doesn't feel like it that night.

That Dodgers' team is weird... I don't know what to make of it. They feel like they should be better than they are... but at the same time you look at the roster and you can see why they are where they are. Ethier, maybe Russel Martin, maybe Blake Dewitt, maybe Ryan Theriot, maybe Matt Kemp because CF's are so hard to find, and Furcal if he can stay healthy, are the only offensive players on the roster worth keeping. And I mean including the bench guys. This team does not have a player slugging .500. They don't have a player with an OBP over .360 other than Furcal. And although that starting staff is rock solid, at least 1-4, you've only got a couple guys in the bullpen who can do anything. And I don't get where they're spending their money because they only have a couple big contracts and a bunch of cheap young players.

Blake DeWitt was traded for Theriot. Plus Martin is gone next year. He's done.

I don't get what's wrong with Martin, guy is still one of the top 5 catchers in baseball at OBP but he just cannot hit for average and cannot hit for power. Was he hurt or something?

I wish I knew, I bet the Dodgers do too. He went from an great 20-20 threat to.... crap. A lot of people say he got Joe Torre'd and was just played way too much at a young age, but I don't buy that. He's a catcher, not a fucking pitcher. He's a good enough defensive catcher, and like you said he knows how to take a walk so he's not a total liability at the plate. I just think at this point they are going to try and deal him to give him a fresh start as much as anything. Maybe he needs a change of scenery to figure it out. Or maybe he's just one of those guys that had early success, enough to have pitchers and pitching coaches game-plan for him, and when they adjusted to him he was never able to adjust himself and get back to that elite level. Shame really, I do like the guy despite how absolutely anti-clutch and inconsistent at the plate he's been the last few years.

Angels and Indians are in the 16th inning. 16 pitchers have been used so far. You gotta wonder what keeps these guys caring when both teams have no shot at the playoffs.
