Spring Training Bitches!!!!! Wooooo!
Jair Jurrjens shows up with a strained pitching shoulder? Yikes. Stay away, stay far away. How does Johnny Damon not have a deal yet? He's gonna be a ChiSox, I betcha. Speaking of not having a deal, what the fuck is up with Felipe Lopez? He was a top 5 second baseman last year, and he can't get a deal anywhere? WTF? So I'm wondering, can someone tell me how ESPN's fantasy baseball gurus can go and rate Miguel "I get shitfaced the night before playoff games" Cabrera ahead of Mark Teixeira when Teixeira had the better year last year across the board, plays on a better team, and even their predictions have him doing EVERYTHING better, with the exception of like 3 batting average points. Where is the logic? ![]() Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? |

QUOTE SI_JonHeyman manny appears amenable to going to the #chisox. but the #dodgers want big prospects back. https://twitter.com/SI_JonHeyman I follow a ton of sports writers... Twitter is better then any other website if you follow the right people. I find out trades like seconds after they are agreed on some times... This post has been edited by Jay: Jul 31 2010, 8:23 AM |

QUOTE Ken_Rosenthal It's a halfcourt shot, but it's still in the air: Source says #WhiteSox intend to make one more run at Manny today. #Dodgers #MLB LOL: QUOTE SI_JonHeyman #dodgers asked #chisox for viciedo for manny I don't blame these teams for trying but I mean, come on... at least it isn't as bad as what Toronto asked Boston for with Scott Downs. They asked for Jose Inglesis, who may not be Dayan Viciedo, but he's pretty closely rated as a prospect. This post has been edited by Jay: Jul 31 2010, 8:33 AM |

Nice moves by the Dodgers. Dewitt could come back and bite them, but Lilly is a solid #2/#3 guy, and Theriot is going to give them what Dewitt would give them, at least this year. I dunno about Dotel, but he's not going to be closing, and the Dodgers sure as hell need an arm in the pen. He can't be worse that George Sherrill. Oh and screw all these guys shitting on them for giving up James McDonald. The guy is Edwin Jackson pt. 2. He had a decent season last year, and turned to shit again this year.
EDIT: Word I'm seeing is the Dodgers may actually be trying to flip Theriot, possibly into a deal with the D-Backs for Kelly Johnson. Also I'm seeing that along with the ChiSox the Angels and the Rays are in on ManRam too. If the Dodgers can get anything back for him, it will be fantastic, as the guy was going to walk at the end of the year anyhow. There was a real violent collision at home plate in the Red Sox/Indians game. Ryan Kalish plowed into Carlos Santana and bent his knee in a way that knees should not bend. Dude was in some incredible pain and the game was delayed 12 minutes. I would be shocked if Santana doesn't need major surgery after that. Too bad, he was one of the lone positives in the Indians' season.

The Indians just seem cursed since going to the AlCS. That team overachieved but they went downhill in a hurry. Looks like its back to a two horse race in the Central... Love it when the Twins and Sox go at it. Great baseball without the drama and classlessness of the Tigers.
~ Fox ~ What are "ripples in the very fabric of space"? No one at Johns Hopkins or any school has the slightest idea what this means, yet the phrase is batted around by tenured professors who claim to be certain they have already figured out creation. "Ripples in the very fabric of space" have never been observed or experimentally created, nor can the idea be falsified. Once, in science, an idea that cannot be falsified was presumed meaningless; now it's presumed true! The "multiverse," the "brane," the compacted dimensions assumed by string theory -- these notions are received with perfect seriousness in contemporary departments of physics though all are unobservable, and based on what's known so far, can neither be proved nor disproved. Just like God, only better for getting tenure. - Greg Easterbrook |

Preliminary reports saying the Indians don't think there's any ACL or MCL damage. Just looking at it, there has to be some kind of damage. Your knee can't bend that far the wrong way without something giving.
